Every child should have the opportunity to be Spanish language bilingual, with an approach to language education that is authentic, consistent and filled with creativity.

MISSION/GOAL

Enable children to comprehend, speak, and think in a new language, and become aware of the tapestry of Spanish speaking cultures. Empower children to navigate different cultures through language learning, by providing them with the tools necessary to think, speak and understand Spanish.

OUTCOME

OUTCOME

Students are confident in their Spanish language skills and can successfully interact with fluent Spanish speakers. They are able to converse, sing songs, play games, take part in small role-plays according to their age level and individual talents and ability in the target language.

Scope

To encourage young students to be excited about Spanish language acquisition and gain a greater understanding of the language and vast diversity of Spanish speaking cultures.

To establish a linguistic foundation in elementary school that ensures high school and college experiences with Spanish education are more meaningful and productive;

To help students master the sound system of a new language so that their pronunciation and intonation will be correct;

To give students, through the “window” of their new language, a better understanding and mastery of the Spanish language;

To introduce the students to an international perspective by acquainting them with other languages and cultures and, in this way, to support their intellectual and cultural growth.

To become valuable contributors to the global economy, cultured and aware of the diversity of languages;

PROGRAM ASSESMENT

Internally, instructors/classes are assessed on a regular basis by the Spanish Immersion Learning supervisor. Typically, instructors and programs are assessed by the following criteria:

  • Adherence to our Spanish for Kids Method
  • Adherence to the lesson plan structure
  • Pace of lesson
  • Classroom management skills
  • Engagement of participants
  • Organization and punctuality
  • Implementation of suggestions
  • Rapport with students and parents.

Total Immersion is a method of language education, in which the lessons are conducted exclusively in the second language.

At Spanish Immersion Learning, our educators are fully committed to the immersion teaching approach, and have seen students successfully acquire fluency level results while actively applying the Total Immersion method.

Spanish immersion gives students the opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge about the Spanish dialect’s culture too. Cultural sensitivity and understanding are integral parts of the Spanish Immersion learning experience. Offering these types of organic, conversational opportunities cue the learner into a greater fluency advantage.

Spanish Immersion Learning also offers coordination of learning abroad experiences. We can plan and organize for you, a study abroad opportunity/course. Living abroad studying Spanish, offers students unlimited learning opportunities, many of which happen outside the traditional classroom.

Our program has combined the best of both worlds, bringing you cutting-edge Spanish-only curriculum, in addition to committed and passionate teachers. Our educators are native Spanish speakers that facilitate immersion learning by enrichment activities both in and outside of the classroom.
